Andromeda was a German progressive rock band (krautrock/heavy prog) from the beginning of 70s, but as they sing in English it's difficult to tell what country are they from without checking their roots first. They managed to record only one album and disappeared forever. The band’s music is very varied, at its lightest resembling late-60′s The Beatles, though mostly it’s heavy and psychedelic rock — quite aggressive hard rock to classically influenced prog with dominating gentle piano. As the music’s often fronted by chunky organ, with blues and classical elements, hints of Brian Auger or The Nice are notable. The album sleeve doesn’t list who does the vocals. There’s also a guest brass-section on some tracks as well as female backing vocalists. Their only, self-titled album is dominated by blazing Hammond organ sounds, but there is something specific about those guys music that can't be easily categorized. There are elements of heavy prog, jazz-rock, psychedelic rock and even many classical music-inspired symphonic prog moments.
